It irks me so much when people go “Hey, remember freshman year when you dated ____?” He was SUCH a loser/douchebag/asshole/mistake/etc.
Internally, It makes me go:
Because, truthfully, I don’t hate the guy. I mean, yeah the relationship didn’t work out, but we have a lot of mutual interests, and he was never anything but kind a respectful towards me. Why does everyone assume just because a couple broke up they automatically hate each others guts? And furthermore, we broke up 5 years ago, yes I remember, no I don’t need any reminders.
